Thirteen years ago I headed off on a plane, with a three month old baby, to join my husband in Yokosuka, Japan. I had never even been out of the United States let alone thought I would be living in Japan for a few years. I immediately started adapting to life in Japan, living in a traditional Japanese neighborhood with very few Americans.
