PTSD: The Good, The Bad and The Beautiful

All of us face varying forms of trauma during our lifetime. A scary and dreadful event, trauma is unfortunately not rare. Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an invisible wound that can develop as a result of a traumatic event. This “signature injury” of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars is psychological and neurological in nature and can affect families, friends and livelihoods. The good news is that early intervention and timely, effective treatment can mitigate PTSD symptoms.
